Guided Tour in English

Kuopio Art Museum organizes open guided tours to the exhibitions on Tuesdays July 4 and July 25. at 2 PM.

Spirit of the Can is a unique exhibition that displays the diversity of urban art. The exhibition features a wide range of works, from text-based graffiti painted on the art museum walls to large street art works and sculptures, and documentary material by Urbaani that demonstrates the graffiti scene of Kuopio. Spirit of the Can is a collaborative exhibition by Kuopio Art Museum and Street Art Association Urbaani Ry.

The exhibition introduces leading artists representing different styles of urban art from all over Finland: Works by 14 different artists or groups of artists are on display. The  artists are Anna Pekkala, Deos, EFK, Jesse Pasanen, Jubilemus, Jukka Peltosaari, Jukka Silokunnas, JR, Kummitus, Maikki Rantala, Niina Mantsinen, Pallo, Rives and Taneli Stenberg. In addition Urbaani All Stars represents regional street art afn graffiti with an alternating ensemble.

Participation to the guided tour is included in the the art museum’s admission fee of €10/€5, under 18 year olds  free and Museum  Card is also an accepted means of entry.
