Is there a lonely teddy bear lounging in your closet, longing for companionship? Give your teddy bear a new life and an opportunity for adventure in an artwork. The Kuopio Art Museum invites all city residents to donate their teddy bears for the Great Teddy Bear Search. The teddy bears will become part of artist Ilai Elias Lehto’s work, Lecture for Teddy Bears about the dangers of Patriarchy, which will be on display at the Magical exhibition at the Kuopio Art Museum in the summer of 2025.

The exhibition offers visitors a unique experience in the world of magical realism. In the Magical exhibition, wondrous, mythical, and even grotesque events are combined in a realistic environment. The exhibition takes visitors on adventures in surprising spaces where parallel realities meet, and nature serves as the connecting thread for the artists. The exhibition opens on May 16th at the Kuopio Art Museum.
If you have teddy bears that need new adventures, donate them to the Kuopio Art Museum by Sunday, April 20th, 2025. The curator and teddy bear coordinator at the Kuopio Art Museum will take care of the teddy bears in preparation for the summer exhibition.
